Q. Is there a list of doctors and hospitals I have to use with a Medicare Supplement? A. Medigap plans allow you to use hospitals and doctors in the U.S. that accept Medicare. The only exception is if it is a Medicare Select plan that has a list of certain hospitals. Q. Do Medicare Supplements have RX coverage? A. This can be obtained through a Medicare Part D program. Please ask for our help! Q. What is the most popular Medicare Supplement Plan? A. The most popular plan is probably Plan F. Plan F covers all the deductibles and all the coinsurance. If it is a Medicare approved expense, the insured will pay nothing. Also very popular is Plan G. The main difference is this Medicare Supplement does not cover the Medicare Part B deductible. Q. What is an Open Enrollment Period? A. The first 6 months an individual is on Medicare Part B is the Open Enrollment Period. During this period the Medicare Enrollee can purchase any of the 10 Medicare Supplement Plans from any company without going through underwriting. To know for sure if you are in your Open Enrollment Period you can look at your Medicare card for the Medicare (Part B) start date. Q. What kind of preventative services are covered by Medicare? A. Medicare Part B covers diabetes services, pap tests and pelvic screenings, prostate cancer screenings, mammogram screenings, and vaccination shots. Q. Should a person purchase a Medicare Supplement if one already has group insurance through an employer? A. One should not spend money on a Medigap policy unnecessarily. Try to avoid being double covered. An agent can help you understand if a Medicare Supplement would put you in that position. |
